JOHNNY CAVANAUGH
Co-founder with his wife Rachel, Johnny serves as the General Contractor on many Cavie Interiors projects. After starting Cavie & Co. 10 years ago building furniture out of their garage, Johnny gained a reputation for his quality craftsmanship and keen eye for detail.
His favorite part of the job is seeing something designed on paper brought to life. Johnny loves problem solving, overcoming obstacles, and giving clients beautiful and well-crafted interior spaces.
When he’s not building or overseeing the Cavie & Co. Team and Tradesmen, Johnny enjoys spending time with Rachel and their four kids fishing, playing sports, or taking his sailboat on the lake.
Matthew Cavanaugh
One of the Senior Craftsmen at Cavie & Co., Matthew brings nearly a decade of experience to custom carpentry and renovations. He is a key asset to the team lending skills in problem solving, thinking outside the box, and providing excellence in his craftsmanship.
In addition to his role at Cavie & Co., Matthew is a licensed real estate agent, which he feels pairs well with his profession as a craftsman. Matthew brings energy and laughter into any room he enters.
Matthew considers himself a snack person, (he says “most people are; but, snacks are still underrated”). When he’s not working, he enjoys wake boarding, Chick-Fil-A, and long walks on the beach.
Skylar Jamison cavanaugh
One of the newest (and most beloved) members of the team, Skylar serves as our Junior Craftsman and has been with Cavie & Co. for five years. He is especially gifted in technical and mechanical projects. Sky loves coming to work because each day is a new challenge to tackle.
His favorite part of working at Cavie & Co. is that it’s a place where there’s “the ability to be heard in the conversation and everyone’s input matters”.
In addition to his role at Cavie & Co., Skylar is also a permanent part of the Cavanaugh family, having been adopted by John and Rachel. When he’s not building, he enjoys working on his cars, fishing, spending time with his family, and going to church.
ELIZABETH BARNES
A Dallas-native, Elizabeth has had an eye for design since she was checking out the Ilse Crawford design books from the library in middle school and photocopying designs to emulate.
After obtaining degrees from Southern Methodist University and her Masters at the University of Texas at Dallas, she put her hand to building systems that refine and inspire.
She lives in a 1930 Tudor home and loves to combine warmth and beauty in spaces while ensuring their function reflects their intended use. Elizabeth brings organization, excellence, and warmth to the client experience while ensuring deadlines are met and the Cavie Interiors team is running efficiently. When not working, Elizabeth enjoys trail walks with her pup, spending time with family, and writing in her cozy nook or exploring a new, local coffee shop or wine bar.
SNIGDHA “SNIGS” CHILAKAPATI
With a passion for design and an incredible attention to detail, Snigdha (Snigs) is the Design and Project Manager for both the Cavie Interiors and Cavie & Co. teams. In addition to pursuing a degree in Psychology, Snigdha is responsible for managing project timelines and ensuring seamless execution from end-to-end.
Her favorite part of working on both Cavie teams is the collaborative process and the relationships built—from talented designers and skilled craftsmen to enthusiastic clients. She is a key player in ensuring ideas are transformed into beautiful, functional spaces.
In addition to her career pursuits, she has a dog, Rex, loves traveling, watching Formula 1, and dancing. Not only can she make a mean cappuccino, but is an avid coffeeshop reviewer.
“We ordered a custom mud bench and barn doors for our master bathroom. Overall amazing beginning to end. Communication on progress of the project was great. They installed today and very were friendly and the finished products look fantastic. We are already planning our next piece from them! ”

I was thrilled to utilize Cavie & Co for my client’s retrofit cabinet installation on either side of their fireplace. We wanted to tear out one side and start over and slightly change the other side. Johnny was really easy to work with, go back-and-forth on design modifications, and in the end, you would never, ever know it was a retrofit. Rachel was fantastic at keeping us updated during a couple of delays and our tear out/installation dates. We were always communicated with. The cabinets/shelves look amazing, like it was always installed, but it now meets my client’s entertainment center needs! Thank you!

“My husband and I ordered a custom dining room table and they made it exactly to our specifications! The table is not only beautiful, but was also very reasonably priced! We would (and have) recommend this furniture to anyone.”
— L. Santa Maria
“I have already recommended Cavie and Company to all of my friends. I’m in love and very happy with my purchase. Thank you! Hawaii, our home and my family will be enjoying your piece of art. ”
— L. Hernandez
“I had the BEST experience with Cavie And Company. They took their time with me with all of my questions as I have never had a barn door, and the outcome was AMAZING! I WOULD RECOMMEND to check them out amazing product service and people. ♡”

“One simple review does not do them justice. I had no idea what I was getting into when I was asking someone I had never met to make me a custom table. The customer service from beginning to end was above and beyond anything I could imagine. The quality of the table is impeccable. I don’t think I could EVER go buy furniture from a retail store again. The thought of bringing this table to our new house and raising a family and making memories around such an amazing piece of furniture is something I can’t put into words. Johnny and Rachel, thank you for everything!”
